First: protect the most complete data
If two devices disagree or you see a sync conflict, do not reset, reinstall, clear browser storage or overwrite data yet. Keep both devices available and take a backup from the device containing your most complete recent changes where that export option is available.
1. Check the same account and workspace
- Confirm the signed-in account and the selected Personal, Portfolio or Business workspace.
- Check that sync is enabled on the devices where you expect it to run. Local-only devices will not automatically share changes.
- Note the displayed sync state, last successful sync time and any conflict or pending-change message.
- Check the same account, date range and currency before concluding that values differ.
2. Rule out an ordinary delay
If one device was offline or the app was in the background, bring it online and allow its normal sync flow to run. Avoid making duplicate edits on both devices while investigating. Some values, such as market prices and derived reports, may update on a different schedule from user-entered records.
3. When there is an actual conflict
Write down which transaction, holding or setting changed on each device and when. Take screenshots of the conflict message, but hide sensitive financial details before sending them to support. Do not assume the newest timestamp contains the intended correction.
4. Get help before a destructive recovery
Contact Cashflow Pilot support with the platform, app version, affected workspace, approximate times, and the exact error wording. Do not email passwords, full account numbers or raw backup files unless support provides an appropriate secure method.
Next steps: run basic sync checks, then review recovery options.
