What to do
1. Identify the problem
Check the date, amount, account and description. Some legitimate purchases can have the same amount.
2. Compare with your statement
Use your statement to decide whether an entry is actually missing or duplicated.
3. Review imports before accepting them
If you imported overlapping statement dates, look carefully at transactions that may already exist.
4. Correct or exclude duplicates
Use the available edit or exclude controls for entries you have confirmed should not be counted.
5. Check your reports and balance
Make sure the corrections did not hide a real payment or affect a transfer between your accounts.
Good to know: Keep one correct copy of each real transaction. If you are unsure, check the original statement before deleting or excluding anything.
